Advent Calendar – Day 5

Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag

I saw this post on @jenniely blog and had to do it. Check her original post here jenniely blog. Thank you for starting this. It is such a good idea!

1. Received an ARC and not reviewed it

Nice! I really don’t receive any ARCs. As I’m still growing my following. So any I get are mostly from giveaways or NetGalley.

2. Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley

Super Nice. I should get bonus points! My rating is at 94%.

3. Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)

Nice. I am awful at Goodreads. I forget to post most reviews there so I don’t think I ever say I will do a fill review on blog.

4. Folded down the page of a book

Nice!

I would never do this. It’s painful when people do that.

5. Accidentially spilled on a book

Naughty.

I am terrible and I am no longer allowed to eat/drink when reading.

6. DNF a book this year

Nice.

I can’t not finish the book no matter how hard it is to read or how horrible the writing. It’s a problem.

7. Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it

Naughty!

I am the Queen of this. Bow to my ability to buy all the pretty books that I might someday probably never read.

8. Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework)

Naughty!

I’m forever doing this. Make dinner? No I’m reading. Finish work ? After this chapter.

9. Skim read a book

Naughty!

I am pro at skim reading. It’s something I do way more than I should.

10. Completely missed your Goodreads goal

Nice.

I have never not reached my goal. I am continually amazed at how many books I read in a year.

11. Borrowed a book and not returned it to the library

Nice.

I always return them. Sometimes I don’t read them but 🤷

12. Broke a book buying ban

Nice.

I have never tried to ban myself. My spontaneous spending wont allow for such nonsense.

13. Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about

Nice.

That’s not to say I don’t wait forever to write the actual review and forgot what it was. But if I start writing I can’t stop.

14. Wrote in a book you were reading

Nice.

Do people do this? I can’t even do the little sticky tabs. I am way too impatient to just read the book than take notes. I sucked at that in school and I’m not starting now.

15. Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads

Naughty. So very bad at this. I am pretty sure my Goodreads # would be 50 books higher if I just remembered to use it.

16. Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend

Nice.

Sadly most if not all of my friends don’t read. 😭

17. Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book

Nice.

See above on the horrible friends who don’t read. Those monsters.

18. Broke the spine of someone else’s book

Nice.

I am so careful about this. I feel awful when it happens so now I try to be nice to my books.

19. Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged

Nice.

I can’t read with the jacket on but I usually put those jackets up high so I don’t ruin them. That’s not to say in years past I haven’t completely lost or destroyed the dust jackets. Because I have so many times!

20. Sat on a book accidentally

Naughty.

I am always doing this. Mostly because I just put my books down wherever I was reading and then forget about them till I sit down again.

Total:

Nice : 14

Naughty : 6

Yay! I am on the Nice list. Does that mean I can buy more books. I think it does. Least that’s what I will tell myself.

What about you? Are you on the Nice list or the naughty list this year? (Remember it’s all in good fun).
